Geography

Politics

The current President, Hosni Mubarak has held power since 1981. During his tenure in office, the country has enjoyed relative political stability. In recent years Egypt has undergone major political reforms, political advances that include allowing carefully vetted opposition parties and the introduction of democratic elections.
